About the Howe Charities Inc.
The Howe Charities Inc. was established in 1999 as a non profit
public donative charity to raise and distribute funds for individuals
and organizations in the arts, sciences and education who seek to
have a broad and positive impact in our world.

Who we Fund
For the year 2007, The Howe Charities Inc. will fund individual
writers, composers, artists, musicians and scholars for specific
projects that seek to have a direct impact on raising the consciousness
and awareness of society. We will support creative arts inspired
educational projects for young children and special needs children.
The following are examples of some of the issue areas
the Board will fund:
Writers/teachers – dedicated
to promoting the values of personal responsibility, freedom and
creativity
Artists – seeking to elevate
and enlighten the human consciousness through inspirational artwork
and storytelling
Musicians/composers – encouraging
traditional and original music, storytelling and dance to educate
about cultural heritage and the need for artistic self expression
inspiring growth and change on the individual and societal level
Early childhood education and aftercare
– supporting creative, nurturing, arts inspired environments
where children can thrive and childhood is revered
Infant/toddler care – supporting
creative and sustained initiatives to provide training and education
on the role of nurturance and brain development
Special needs adults – supporting
the study and creation of a comprehensive, therapeutic,supportive
community for and with adults with developmental disabilities
emphasizing independence through vocational possibilities, interest
and potentials

Current Range of Grants
$200 - $1000
The following support is available to qualifying organizations:
Board of Directors Grants: Grants
are awarded at the end of the year or as may be determined by the Howe Charities, Inc., Board of Directors.

APPLICATION PROCESS
When applying for a grant, please complete the application
form and attach a proposal, which includes the following:
- your mission
- a brief history of your work
- budget and timeline
- how your project will positively impact the awareness
and consciousness of individuals and the public
We are a young organization and although our goals
are both ambitious and achievable, we have limited funding available
at this time. We are in the process of formalizing our fund raising
plans so that many more projects that help humanity can be funded.
Please note that if your project cannot be funded at this time it
in no way implies that it is without merit. All projects meeting
the board’s criteria will be invited to reapply. All proposals
will be reviewed and applicants for year end funding will be contacted.
Funds will be dispersed by the end of the calendar year or as determined by the board of Directors.
Please submit your proposal by September 15.
